Mourn or Carry on?

I haven't blogged in a while guys... And I'm sorry. Life's kinda been busy lately but don't think I've neglected looking fabulous!

But before I upload pictures of myself in my favorite outfits from this week (those will come in a later post) I would like to present a question to everyone reading this. What do you do after you get dumped my a guy? I'm honestly not sure because I don't have much experience with this particular situation but seriously! Do you mourn or carry on?

........ The liberal BA girl in me really wants to say that you should just carry on and snatch up a new guy then rub it in your ex-lovers face. But we all know I'm a hopeless romantic and I could never bring myself to do something like that so chances are this chick is gonna be in mourning for the next few days... I need to get a new hat. :'(

Baseball!!!! I love, love, love baseball! And it was my pleasure to attend a Diamondbacks Game at Chase Stadium this Saterday! Heres some pictures which record the good times.... And the strange ones lol

Roadtrip!

Heading to Pheonix for a day trip to be recognized as Softball State Champions at a Diamondbacks game! Just think: 15 girls in one mini bus.... Sounds splendid!

I'm a huge sports fan!! There is only one sport that I find no enjoyment in and that is hockey. But this post isn't about hockey; it's about tennis. Right now I am watching the 2012 French Open. #1 Djokovic is playing #3 Federer. And oh how I adore Djokovic! With a serve that maxes out at 130mph you'd have to be crazy NOT to love this man!

Cap Syndrome

I'm not gonna lie. I'm kind of a hat person. Not so much in that i wear them alot, but that I look decent in them. So a few minutes ago as I sat in my aunt's room looking around at her array of random objects my interest was peaked as I caught view of a few of her hats she'd left behind. And what else was I to do but photograph them and myself in them :)

I personally only own one "cap" style hat. But now I'm reconsidering this issue. I can totally see myself rocking a snapback in a bikini with my friends by the pool! I think I need to take a trip to the hat store! ;)

My Dream Car!

Some people dream of owning a Ferrari or a Porsche. I am one of those strange girls that enjoys the simpler things in life. What's my dream car? A VW Cabrio convertible. Cutest thing this side of Texas and whether I get an older model or a new it's still chill and the ultimate beach girl car. Can't you just see me in it? :)

Boys have the best ideas sometimes! I asked a certain boy what color I should paint my nails and he suggested turquoise (one of my favorite colors against my skin) and my nails turned out fantastic! For my toes I chose a simple gold glitter and I love them too!

Mario Bros.

I am a proud... and rather attractive geek girl and when I saw this trending on Google+ I knew I had to share it. Why? Because I want them!!!! They're the plant earrings from the Mario Bros. video game! So cute! <3

I love my friends. Like I really, really do! And tonight as I was hanging out with 2 of my favorite girls ever Tianna and Tiara Dixon we did what all beautiful girls do when they get together: We took PICTURES!!! And it was so very fun :)

With Summer here I find that 90% of the time I do nothing with my life! All I do is shop, sleep, eat and swim. So later today, (because I am writing this post from my bedroom @ 12:49 am) I'm gonna do a bohomian inspired photo shoot! Just for kicks!! Haha I think I'll do a few swimsuit shots and a dressy look and a casual look. Yeah that sounds good haha.... Now I just need to get some sleep!

The Frustrastion of Being a Black Barbie

Truth is. I'm constantly told that I'm like the ultimate black barbie. It's rather embarrassing. In fact one of the main reasons that I shy away from wearing makeup is because it emphasizes the "barbie-ness" of my face! Personally I'm not sure if it's such a bad thing that I look like a barbie but.... Still. /:

I Nailed it w/ those Polka-Dots!

Nothing makes me feel quite as girly-good as doing my own nails! Who needs a nail shop nowadays with all the great things you can buy in the store! Look at this cute little nail design I just did on my own nails tonight!

I loved how it came out and it was so easy to do on myself! All I needed were some simple supplies from the line of Sally Hansen!

All I used was 2 coats of Sally Hansens Insta-Dri Nail Color in Quick Canary and Sally Hansens Nail Art Pen in white and I was all set! In 20 minutes you've got yourself an adorable manicure right at home!  

Ode to the Dress of my Dreams: The Tale of How it was Lost

It was the eve of the last day of May. I had just wrapped up a fantastic few hours with friends and had gotten in the car with my mother Tileka. Much to my surprise she took a detour on our way home. She pulled into Ross. I remember my brow furrowing as I glanced up at the luminous blue lights from my seat in our car. "Why are we here?" I remember asking with disdain. This particular location was always crowded  with irate women who, 9 times out of 10, favored Spanish over English. My mother justified our unfortunate stop by saying she was looking for a chest to put in her bedroom. Submissively I stepped out of the car onto the bumpy asphalt parking lot. I smoothed the doubts out of my mind by reminding myself that it was late and the store couldn't be so very crowded. My logic proved to be right, the store had a decent, but not overwhelming, amount of shoppers in it and for once i felt comfortable wandering away from my mother to see what they were offering in the dress section. Strolling through the racks of tight, immodest, stripper dresses I began to lose hope that there was anything there worth my attention when suddenly, I saw it: the dress that hasn't left my mind all day long. It was a beautiful dress, the body of it was a creamy off-white color, the sleeves were of a light chiffon material with slits all the way down the sides that created a goddess-like effect. Immediately my mind went to the designer Free People and I noticed the way the dress mimicked their trademark style. Timidly I glanced at the size: 3!!! It was in my size! I'm not exactly sure how to describe my reaction when I saw that this dress was the perfect size for me, but I will tell  you that on the rack it practically screamed: "Buy me!"

Before I quite knew what was happening I snatched the dress off the rack and went to try it on in the dressing room. My gaze never left the  full length mirror as I slipped the dress on over my head and inched it down and over my body. When I finished the task of dressing I just stared. The fit was clingy, but not too tight. The length was short, but not at all immodest. The neckline was high, but in a classy, put together sort of way. And the sleeves... Well the sleeves were so beautiful with the way they buttoned delicately at the cuff and draped over my arms allowing them to peek out depending on how I moved. The dress was stunning! I could see myself going to my junior prom in this dress and pairing it with sky-high cream colored stilettos and delicate earrings. I LOVED this dress.

Alas, the time had come for my mother and I to leave and continue on our journey home. Evidently she had not found what she had come looking for and despite my pleading for her to purchase the dress of my dreams for me (for a mere $16.99!!) she opted out with the excuse that: "I own too many clothes as it is and I need to save money."

And now as I sit here, nestled in my bed in melancholy, I can't help thinking about that dress and how stunning it was.... I loved that dress with a deep passion in my heart. And as my mother and I pulled away from that wretched Ross store I couldn't help looking back out of the rear-view mirror and thinking about what could have been. In a way I feel as if I have lost a lover. Lord help me heal. /:

Oh Charlie you have Charmed me once more!

I am in love! Again! With yet another store that has changed my life for the better! Charming Charlie is an incredible store that I believe every jewelry feign on EARTH should know about.

Once you have allowed yourself to continue breathing the only natural thing to do is SHOP! Exploring this store is heavenly for a girl like me. Not only is each individual station separated by color, it is also organized by style! It's the OCD/fashionistas dream come true! And as I skipped through the store picking up little trinkets and trying on the most fabulous (and sometimes gaudy) pieces I began allow myself to slip into my happy place. Girls, and guys, if you want to find your happy place and allow yourself to be a little girl again: go to Charming Charlie. Your life is guaranteed to be forever changed. For the better! :)

Now, just because I can't help myself, and because I have been asked by a certain male under the name of Is**ah I will post some pictures of my escapades in Charming Charlie. I know, I know... They're not very.... Sophisticated lol.
